With the New Year approaching quickly, it’s a good time to reflect on your accomplishments and set intentions for the next year.
Whether you create resolutions or try to change something, you should be proud of yourself.
Making time to reflect and wanting to make a change is commendable.
One of the biggest skills required to be successful at change is consistency.
When being consistent, growth is easier, new routines are turned into habits, and your goal to change is easier.
To help launch your business success into the New Year, I have a few ways you can change your routines around for better reporting.
A Must-Have Routine for Marketing:
Automating Your Reports
Whether you are a freelancer, running a side hustle, or making important marketing decisions daily for your company, these routines guarantee one of the most important things to market; consistency.
Being consistent with your reports and checking how things are running is important to make better business decisions.
Email Yourself Reports Automatically
You’re doing a million other things during the day, so having reports delivered to your (and your team’s) inbox is a great way to keep an eye on things.

My Sample Report You Can Run Yourself
Google Ads are a BIG investment in any company. Regardless of your daily budget, if you’re spending money regularly, it’s good to closely monitor that spending and how it’s performing.
Because I don’t always have time to jump into Google Ads every day, I’ve created a Google Ads report on Looker Studio that gets emailed to my inbox daily.
You can access and copy it for yourself at this link and start populating your Google Ads report in a matter of minutes! There are two optional reports to use.
The service industry Template includes phone calls, CPC, and traffic.
The conversion Template includes conversions and cost per conversion.
How To Copy Report:
Once you open the report, head to the top right with “three dots” and select “Make a copy”.
How To Add Your Data To Report:
Once you copy the report to your account, you will need to add your data to the report from Google Ads. *Make sure you’re logged into your Google Ads account.
After you add the Google Ads data, you should the charts populate with your own data from the last 30 days. If you want to edit the data further, I recommend checking out this resource for more detailed data reporting.
How To Scheduled Regular Emails:
Once you have the data you want to be set up in your report, it’s time to be more consistent with your reports and schedule them! You can send them daily, weekly, or even monthly.
For this simple report, I prefer to send it daily so I can have a quick glance at it to check for any anomalies, changes, or adjustments that need to be made.
Valuing your time is part of being consistent…
When you can set up reports like this one and get them delivered consistently, you’re saving time! Saving time with more consistent reporting will allow you to keep your pulse on things like Google Ads when you’re busy with other tasks.
Other Report Ideas You Can Create:
Weekly YouTube Reports: If you’re producing a ton of social media content, chances are you have videos on YouTube too. Having this report delivered weekly help you see a trend in subscribers, comments, and views. I use weekly for this because, typically most brands are only posting once a week on YouTube.
Daily Google Analytics: Sending basic reports from Google Analytics (here’s how) to your inbox daily is a good way to keep the pulse on how your website is performing. While the reports aren’t always the prettiest, I like to keep them coming to keep an eye on traffic patterns, sources of traffic, and popular pages.
Facebook Ads Report: Do you spend a lot on Facebook Ads? There are many options for adding more data streams into your reports for Facebook Ad Performance for quick reports to be emailed to you.
Shopify Reports: If you are in e-commerce, an idea of how your products perform is imperative. Setting up a report for your Shopify store can help you stay focused on the bigger ideas you’re working on while keeping an eye on sales performance.
