This week’s edition is powered by Brain.fm.
Your most productive day---on demand.
Brain.fm’s focus music is made to help you work better by blending into the background so you can focus distraction-free... all while stimulating the brain with gentle, rhythmic pulses in the music that supports sustained attention.
Previous to using Brain.fm, I would listen to soundtracks from movies that included high-suspense audio - I didn’t realize it was making me anxious during the day.
With Brain.fm the new calming and deep-work rhythms help keep focus.
I decided a little over a month ago to start a new niche site. While I have been running NJspots.com since 2015, I didn’t start that site with a “niche site” mentality - but rather a community. So this new site, in my mind, is my first real niche site.
So how’s it going so far?
I’m just getting started.
After a few weeks, the spaghetti is sticking to the walls. I’m seeing some real impressions across the desk, but no click just yet.
So what’s next…
As rankings start to roll in, this gives me a chance to adjust and evaluate my topics.
A few things I look for…
What am I already ranking for? If I can enhance it, I will.
What am I NOT ranking for that I thought I would?
Are there any new topics I need to consider? Add these to the list.
Keeping The Topics Updated
I use Notion to track some of the topics I’m working on, including tagging related topics for sub-pages.
I continue to search for high-volume searches with the help of AHREFs, Google Search Console, and ChatGPT suggestions.
Coming soon…
I have to be honest. I’ve been overwhelmed the last few weeks and stepped away from the site - not good.
But then I see amazing tweets like this, and it reminds me to keep going!
Keep On Testing
I’m continuing to test new products and create reviews for those on the site - all while also creating supporting evergreen content.
Pro Tip 💡
I found a few subreddits and Facebook groups that are right within my niche, so I’ve been playing around with some prompts to ask for advice on things, sparking some great ideas for new topics.
Keep an eye out for online communities to see if you can capture topics that are a pain point in your niche that you can answer.
