Happy New Year! 🎊

This week I wanted to keep things light as most of us are climbing out of the holiday productivity hangover.

Look at this as your quick break of the day to reflect.

Reminder: It’s 2023 now
so you have permission to continue to write “2022” for the next 1.5 months.

Every year since 2014, I have been choosing a Mantra at the turn of the New Year.

My mantra is meant to be a focus word that allows me to align goals and mentality throughout the year. This takes the place of setting unrealistic resolutions for myself that fail.

My goal with Mantras is to apply them to every aspect of life.

They are meant to focus my efforts on the feeling of my results.

Here are the mantras I’ve used so far:

  • 2014: Winning

  • 2015: Inspire

  • 2016: Limitless

  • 2017: Conquer

  • 2018: Elevate

  • 2019: Focus

  • 2020: Build

  • 2021: Transcend

  • 2022: Excel

As you may notice, there has been a growing theme for many years. Trying to reach out further.

My 2023 Mantra: LISTEN

Since I started my New Year Mantras, I have been missing one crucial aspect; listening.

Listening to my audience.

Listening to my intuition.

Listening to others.

Listening to outside forces.

While attempting to grow, I was failing to get the whole picture.

I’ve always tended to interrupt people because I don’t listen. This is the primary focus for me, and I want to hear what people have to say.

Change Is Hard, So Start with Small

Whether you choose resolutions, try a mantra with me, or don’t do anything specifically for New Year, I hope you can try to change along the way.

Change is hard, so if you’re struggling to change, start small.

I wish everyone a Happy New Year and thank you for being a part of my weekly newsletter.
